PSSA - Pennsylvania State School of Assessment
At the high school, the PSSA is administered to the junior class and tests in the areas of:
- Writing
- Mathematics
- Reading
- Science
The State of Pennsylvania mandates that student scores are recorded on the academic transcript. Therefore, we encourage students to perform their best.
The PSSAs are offered the same time every year:
- February - Writing Exam
- March - Mathematics & Reading Exam
- April - Students take the Science Exam
Seniors are given the opportunity to retest during October if they were absent during testing or scored at a Basic or Below Basic Level.
Parents are able to exempt their children from these exams for religious reasons only. The family must first review the exams and place an excuse for religious reasons in writing to the building Principal and/or Testing Coordinator.
