Scholastic Aptitude Testing (SAT)

The SAT is part of the College Admissions Testing Program (ATP) and is usually taken by juniors and seniors.
The test measures how well you analyze and solve problems. Math, reading and writing skills are tested in nine sections (plus one experimental section that will not effect your score).
Students can register by using the registration booklet in the Guidance Office or online at the College Board Web site at www.collegeboard.com.
SAT - The Scholastic Aptitude Test Overview
- The duration of the test is about 3 hours and 45 minutes in length
- The test is taken by high school juniors and seniors at PRHS in the fall Saturday, October 4, 2008 and March 14, 2009. Students may also take the test at other centers throughout the year
- The test is given by the College Board
- The test is offered seven times per year on Saturdays usually in October, November, December, January, March, May and June
- The test is used by most colleges for admissions purposes
